First Trip to the Island

After today's doctor appt. for the 2 year checkup (3 feet tall, 28 pounds, and supposedly still a small head, but we don't think so) we took Cullen to Kings Island for the very first time. We were a little unsure as to how he would take it or if we put him on something he would immediately want back off if we weren't there, but we were shocked. He LOVED every minute of it. I don't remember what half the names are on these rides being they have changed since I rode them when I was a kid......which was only a few years back...HA.......and since we worked there 10 years ago.

The first thing we did was ride Scooby Doo.. it has a gun for him to shoot.

Then we rode the "Sport-a-copters", but I didn't get any good pics from that, then onto the Carousel.

Nice Horsey.

Then we rode the train. Cullen really enjoyed the train. Mommy just happened to know one of the engineers (fellow Kiwanian) and so we got a few photo ops on the Engine. Thanks Marvin.

Then we found the little train to ride.....La adventura de azul or something like that....???

and then onto the Thornberrys something or other.... AKA the little log flume. Cullen TECHNICALLY wasn't tall enough to ride, even though we were just at the dr. and they said he was 36 inches, apparently KI uses another form of measurement because he was about 3-4 inches shy.... We got a little wet.

Now only in the last week of full operations, would you be able to WALK ON to the newest coaster at the park... So... me and Scott took turns to go ride Diamondback. Which was good. Noone got an instant headache from it and neither of us saw the funnel cake that we had just eaten. We are slightly aging and Coasters seem to not treat us the same way they used to. (Scott is in the front of the 4th car if you can't tell)

Couldn't pass up the photo op.

Look Mom, cars with steering wheels.

Listen closely for the "Hi mommy & Hi Daddy" as he comes around

Had to do this twice too....

Up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.... which I STILL HATE. I can't look over the edge anymore. But Cullen can... He made me very nervous.

My absolute FAVORITE. I remember riding this when I was a kid, and here is Cullen. We thought for sure he would try to slip out of the seat belt and climb out, but nope, he stayed seated and loved it... enjoy the video!
We also had to ride it twice....

Knock Knock... Who's there?

No pics today, only a very funny story. I can laugh about it now, because it will never happen again. Monday, I was doing my typical Sunday chores (day behind, busy weekend) so I had gone downstairs to switch the loads of laundry over. As I am heading back up the stairs, I am praying that what I had mentioned to Scott a few weeks ago isn't about to come true. Unfortunately for me.... IT DID.
I was stuck...... Stuck on the stairs.
My son LOCKED ME IN THE BASEMENT!
If you've been to the house, the door from the dining room has a lock on it... why..... ?? and the door to go outside has a key deadbolt on it.. and the key... you guessed it.. in the dining room... so there I was....
knocking on the door..."Cullen, can you come unlock the door for mommy?"
He is a pretty smart fella though, because I was only there a few minutes before he unlocked it.

Grape Serenade

Run Jump N Play... again

Me and lil man went to RJP again this morning while Scott went to the dentist and the range.
He had a blast. It wasn't as scary this time and he just ran from bouncy to bouncy and was making friends and getting their help up the walls so that he could go down the big shark slide. He's growing up so fast. Afterwards we went to McDonald's! The boy does enjoy his occasional Coke. Ahhhhhh.

One of the big slides he went down.

Resting.....

Finally enjoying swinging longer than 2 minutes.....

Chuck E Cheese

Cullen went to see Chuck E for the first time. As soon as we got there, a life size Chuck E was there to greet him... but he wasn't having that. He was very unhappy to see Chuck. The first few 'moving' rides we put him on he was unsure what to think so he quickly wanted off them shouting "NO NO NO NO NO" and was quite happy to be on something that didn't move. He drove some cars, and skee-ball... throwing balls into other lanes, constantly hitting things that he shouldn't.

After we ate some pizza and enjoyed the off broadway (waaaayyyyy off broadway) stage show he came around some.

"Here's my ticket daddy."

"I'm flying"

"What's up Bob."

Cullen was with his one eyed mama. :-)

I tried the entire time to get him to sit on this ride next to Chuck.... and when I finally did... it was out of paper... So the nice attendant come over and made it take pics for us. This is the best of the 3.

Rainy 4th.....

Cullen up to no good......but look at that face. :-)

We had to remove the glass top to the side table. I won't mention any names, but someone would either stand on top of it and jump.... or else he would climb under the table and then push the glass portion out of his way so he could stand in the middle of the table. So needless to say, the glass was immediately removed and put away for safe keeping.

We went to the lake to celebrate the 4th, but it rained nearly all day. Very sad. Cullen didn't get to play in the river, go for a boat ride see Daddy blow things up... NOTHING..... Oh well, we will have to go back another weekend to play.

Cullen taking pics with the camera of Auntie Nora.

Playing in the puddles on the deck with Auntie Beth.

Praise God for Chicken Baskets!!!! LOL- this cracked me up
